Formed by hand,
aged by fire.

KILS is a small-batch pottery studio in South Africa, making pieces slowly and by hand. Shaped by instinct, patience and the unpredictability of fire, each piece is made to be used, lived with and made part of the everyday.

Philosophy

Each piece is a quiet record of connection — between earth and hand, between maker and the trust required to let the kiln have the last word.

We release in small, seasonal collections. When a piece finds its home it stays in the archive, a continuing gallery of the studio's evolving language.

The Archive

A record of what came before.

Every previous collection lives on as a gallery. Trace the evolution of glazes, forms, and the studio's hand through the years.
